Enzo Needs Your Help

Enzo lives in Tennessee and Desperately Needs Your Help!

He is a Jack Russell mix who was saved from the shelter as a puppy. He is one of the most amazing dogs I have ever encountered. Unfortunately, his owner’s are not equipped to take care of his special needs right now and we need you to help us find someone who can care for him properly.

The Accident

Enzo was riding in the car with his head out the window when he saw a deer and jumped out after it… with the car going about 40 mph. He landed on his head, had a sever concussion, and was in a coma for about 2 days. When he woke up he was blind and did not regain his sight for about 3 days. He also suffered sever internal bleeding and had 24 hour veterinary care for a week. When we finally got to take him home, he could not control any of his urinary or bowel movements and was dragging his back legs because of the neurological damage he suffered in the accident. We have done extensive physical therapy with him as well as a series of acupuncture treatments, and he is able to use his back legs now and walk—not perfectly but at least he can. He is also able to run (I call it a bunny hop because that is what he does with his back legs to get momentum going!). The only problem that he is having is that he can control his urinary movements but still cannot his bowel movements (he usually goes when he hasn’t gone out in awhile and gets excited). We try to take him out regularly but he still does have accidents and would be better off in a home with a back yard where he could get plenty of exercise. He can still be in the house as long as he has gone to the bathroom within a few hours. He is still the sweetest dog in the world and the accident didn’t change his wonderful personality one bit!
